So, here goes! My very first blog post. I have so many thoughts and ideas in my head that I thought I needed somewhere and someone to hopefully write it all down to and who actually might enjoy reading about it! So grab a cuppa and lets get to know each other a little more.
Let me explain a little bit about me and what I will be blogging about.
I am soon about to hit the big 3 0 and I have recently felt a little lost in where I want to be and how do I do what it is I really really want to do, being an Interior and Events Stylist.
I bought my very first teeny tiny cottage just over a year ago in West Yorkshire. Renovating on a budget has been difficult but very rewarding and something I am really proud of myself for doing. It is possible to do big things on your own! :) I am keen to push that. It might be really small but it is all mine and on a very small budget it can still be done. Take a look at my Instagram hobbit_cottage if you want to see more on this. I will write about an exciting shoot I was involved in at a later date.
So, my background is in Interior Design, I have always studied art and design, textiles and graphics throughout my education. A design led career was always going to be for me! But I genuinely love what I do. My previous job was at IKEA as an Interior Designer and I absolutely loved it! Actually enjoying going to work each day is a rare thing but this was how it was for me. I learnt so much and really enjoyed the variety in the role.
Currently I work in events and design kitchen sets which is great. Very challenging but I am enjoying it. In my spare time I enjoy getting crafty! I am currently helping my sister and my best friend with their weddings next year. I love styling and any chance to get creative. I have been doing their wedding invites, styling ideas for the venues and hen do planning! It is a lot to take on but I really like doing it and it is something I would love to be more involved with. I hope to blog about all this as well.
I am heading to a few interior and Christmas styling workshops over the coming months and really wanted somewhere I can write about my day or how my week has gone. So, this is my space for doing just that :). I recently went to a beginners calligraphy course and myself and my sister really wanted to tell people about it, so we thought having a blog would be perfect for things like that!
I want to tell you about all my crafty projects, events and styling, recipes I've tried, places I've been to or even how I enjoy my cosy nights in (there will be plenty of these nights over Winter).
Phew! That wasn't too difficult! I hope you're slightly more interested now and I hope to see you at Chapter 1.
Have a great weekend!
