Another week closer to Christmas and I am enjoying the build up more and more. It feels like more people are wanting to get festive earlier, I've seen a few Christmas trees up already! Eek! I am thinking I will get my trees this week which I am very excited about! There has even been snow in West Yorkshire this weekend too!
My week has been extremely busy with work, but I managed to squeeze in a night out with plenty cocktails and catch ups which was great! I did manage to do some baking as well this week. After a few unsuccessful bakes my creamy vanilla fudge still hasn't turned out well, neither did my honeycomb. The recipes are easy to follow...but mine still need practise! I will try again this week. My gingerbread loaf however turned out very well! A little over baked which meant it was a little dry but as a first attempt I was quite pleased with the result! It went down a treat with the work lot, they're happy to be my guinea pigs and wouldn't turn down a sweet treat to get them through a busy day!
If you want the recipe it was a Delia Smith recipe, just Google gingerbread loaf and it'll take you straight to it.
I am feeling quite organised with Christmas presents this year, I have a very exciting workshop next week which I cant wait to tell you all about, I know it'll be great! I am hoping to be super inspired and take away lots of styling and Christmas tips for the festive period! My wrapping skills could do with some help too so hopefully I can show you my wrapped presents under the tree.
I have been busy making my own Christmas cards as well this year. I have had lots of nice comments about them so I thought this year instead of buying cards I will make them all instead, each one different and I love a little handmade touch.
I love to style and especially at Christmas time. I am really keen to get more involved with interior styling, wedding styling in the new year. I have lots of plans and hopefully something will come of it. In my spare time I enjoy researching, looking at blogs and websites of other companies I like, their styling and try to re create my own. So, I thought I would re create my own Christmas table setting, for two.
I've put up a few pictures so you can see what I did. I was just practising but it was really nice to 'pretend' I was on a styled shoot and try and bring a little magic to my seasonal table setting. Let me know what you think of it, I'd love to hear your comments and if you like it!
I hope you enjoy this weeks post and I look forward to chatting to you next week!
