After my sisters wedding back in the summer I haven’t written a blog post...I lost a little bit of inspiration and wasn’t sure what to write about. But, as I start the new year I wanted to really push myself and really try for 2019 to work harder on my blog, push my little business and really try and make a go of it all! Fingers crossed!
I thought I would start the new year off by looking back through all the exciting times of 2018!
I had just turned 30 so I thought I would make sure I had lots of fun in 2018, which I definitely have! The previous year I had had a photoshoot with Ikea where they came for 3 days and shot the whole of my home! It was such a great experience and something I am really proud of! All of the features were shown on the Ikea website in January this year which was so exciting! I have worked so hard on my home and really tried to create a home I am proud of, no matter how tiny it may be.
I then was asked to be bridesmaid for my best friends wedding! She also asked me to design her wedding invitations and help style the venue! I also helped style the hen do where I could really push my business ideas and try and make a go of things! She has been very supportive and is always there for me! Such a pleasure to be a part of her wedding! It really was a perfect day!
My next task was to plan my twin sisters hen do! Myself and my sister planned a great weekend and I was able to go wild with styling! I knew her style and what she would like so I absolutely loved setting this up! It was stressful but looked so great! We created a tea party type set up in the garden where we did various things like escape rooms, cocktail making and celebrated the whole weekend! I designed welcome notes, made pallet tables and created a tea party set up! I loved the final look! The weather even stayed dry too!!
Then came the wedding! One of the best days ever celebrating Jess and baz’s wedding! I am so so happy for them and what a fab time it was! They decided so get married in Malta, a stunning venue and perfect weather! To be a bridesmaid and part of their special day was a massive high for 2018 and I’m so happy for them both and wish them a lifetime of happiness! ...I also got a little holiday out of it too after not being away for 10 years, another little achievement for 2018.
I also got to design another friends wedding invitations! I have known Steph since uni but feel like we have gotten much closer over the last year which is great! Steph, Nat and Hannah are such great friends of mine and being involved with their wedding plans is so special! Steph’s hen do in Marbella was amazing, such great memories and laughs! I’ve managed to cram in lots of weddings and hen dos this year it seems! Steph’s wedding invites were probably my fav! I loved making them and doing what I enjoy, for my friends is even better.
I also had another house feature for Good Homes magazine! It was recently in the Christmas edition and it looked great!! Again, such an achievement for me seeing my home in an interior magazine! One thing I have always wanted to do and there it is! I did it!! From this shoot I was then given the opportunity to help style a house for another magazine feature! Such a fab opportunity! All thanks to the wonderful Katie At Beautiful Home In The North and Maxine At We Love Home Blog. Thank you for seeing the potential in my little cottage and in me!! It really means so much!
For 2019 I will do my best to push my creativity and my business. I love to learn and I am very passionate about what I do. I have some jobs lined up ready and I can’t wait to get started on them. Who knows what else the year will have in store for me, but I’m excited to find out!
Now it’s time to pop the prosecco and welcome the new year in! Happy New Year everyone!
Lots of love
